ALWAYS on the lookout for a poster girl with plenty of rock'n'roll credibility and sex appeal, Melanie Greensmith of Wheels & Dollbaby is about to unveil her latest. Daisy Lowe - daughter of designer/singer Pearl Lowe and Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale - will first appear in the May edition of British Vogue in the label's sex-kittenish President dress. The shoot took place at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in London's Knightsbridge - just over the road from Harvey Nichols where Wheels & Dollbaby has a concession (a mini-store within a store) - with Justin Smith behind the camera. "We met originally at my opening at Harvey Nics [three years ago] and Daisy was really young then, about 15, and I really liked her mum Pearl's style," Greensmith said. "We were looking to get another model - we've had Dita [Von Teese] and Debbie Harry - and I'd been noticing that Daisy was looking a lot older and fabulous. She's in Italian Vogue and W magazine and I thought, 'Wow, I wouldn't mind using her."' Greensmith is clearly thrilled with the results. "She's young, she's rock royalty, she's a bit naughty and she's not overexposed. I don't like to use people that have done everything."

Maybe a May visit for Audrey

OUR cover girl Audrey Tautou admitted in our interview that she had never visited Australia, although she said a trip was on the cards. And with good reason: "One of my best friends is a French stylist in Sydney and she has great clothes," she said. "So I may come to see her in May." That bestie would be French designer Laurence Pasquier. "We've known each other since we were seven or eight years old," Pasquier said. "We did Girl Scouts together, that's how we became very close - sleeping in tents!" Tautou is also proving an excellent model for Pasquier's designs. "She's already put in her orders for this winter, so when she comes this year I'll have them ready for her." Pasquier is currently stocked around the country, including at bloodorange in Elizabeth Bay and Pod in Mosman.

Elle is for lingerie

ELLE Macpherson launches her new Intimate Boudoir Collection next week, not to the women who buy her underwear, but to the men who will buy it for them. The Body will host 80 influential Aussie blokes to discuss the fine art of choosing the perfect lingerie for their partner. Big guns including Eddie McGuire, Ryan and Kerry Stokes, Lachlan Murdoch and Geoff Dixon have all made the invitation list, but we will have to wait and see who turns up on the night. Those who have RSVP'd are apparently keen to bring their partners, only to be told it is a men-only event. Whether this will make the ladies happy or not is debatable; sending their men off for a lingerie session with the Body might at least be tempered by the hope that their blokes will bring back some great booty.

More choice for men

DAVID Lawrence has upped the ante on its women's wear, and as of tomorrow it will add men's wear into the equation. Select stores around the country will be stocking David Lawrence Man, a collection of 80 pieces that can dress men for everything from the office to the pub, with a cosy weekend retreat thrown in.

Basics include suiting and knits see cardigan (left), and with the trench a key piece for women this winter, the guys have no need to miss out, with a great three-quarter-length example in the range.

S0 LOVE

When Christensen Copenhagen unveiled its latest drop of spring/summer from the northern hemisphere (while we all get set to buy our winter woollies), among the new haul was the much-lauded celebrity label Jovovich Hawke - the collaboration between model/actress/singer Milla Jovovich and catwalker Carmen Hawke. And while the range on offer is small - only a few dress designs - it is perfectly formed.

S0 HATE

Apparently there is unrest in the Dior camp, with contract negotiations with Dior Homme designer Hedi Slimane reportedly once again at breaking point. The designer is said to want to start his own label and the major sticking point is over control of his name.
